Connecting Cannabis and Astrology in Spirit Work
Historically, humans have partnered with and implemented cannabis for a wide range of uses, and this has very much included religion. Every time I try to write this post, I get too in-depth into the history of cannabis use, but suffice to say, despite some Puritanical, DARE-influenced attitudes that have permeated modern Western religion, if cannabis is good enough for the Hindu god Shiva, she's good enough to be an ally in your spiritual work.
So, here's how I combine astrology and cannabis into effective trance work, that usually ends up as me talking to my spirits, me getting distracted from talking to my spirits because wow universe so loud, and my spirits waving their astral fingers in front of my face so I will look back at them. To make this guidance accessible and very baby, all you need to know is what I am about to explain in these two charts:
Basically, I time my highs with astrology. I use the ingestion of a cannabis gummy as an activating moment for the rest of the chart, ensuring positive ends. In astrology, they call this creating an election, in witchcraft they call it spellwork. I do not always know what I am making and activating these charts for, nor do I really care. In the past, I did it to watch my psychic senses fully open and receive spiritual info. Nowadays, I am simply seeking experiences and clearer communications with Lucifer as well as my other close spirits.
How To Do This
I use several components in order to fulfill this process, with the use of the free Urania app to help me plan ahead. The Urania app is where that second chart above came from when I was planning a gummy trip for the other night. The original planning points are in the lines, which are called angles. The line/angle on the left with the initials AC stands for the "ascendant," the opposite part of that same angle is the "descendant," (DSC). Above is the MC, standing for medium coeli, but is called Midheaven in English; the other side of the MC is the imum coeli, the IC. Technically, all these angles have distinct meanings in traditional astrology systems, but they don't really matter too much here unless you want to read more and apply them. You just want to recognize them as points of impact.
The next thing you want to do is find times where any of the glyphs for the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, or Jupiter are on the AC, DSC, MC or IC. You can feel free to play around with Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto if you want, I just personally don't. Really, you should feel free to play around in general and just see what you get from any of the planets on any of the angles because experimenting is fun. I would just caution against using Mars or Saturn, unless you understand the meanings of the planets and therefore what you're incorporating.
If you ever get tired of experimenting and want more intentionality, there is one more thing you can do. This is very optional, so please do not feel overwhelmed by it if you are not yet ready for more detail. However, if you want to plan a particularly good high, make sure the planets are in the following signs while on the angles:
Sun: Aries or Leo
Moon: Taurus or Cancer
Mercury: Virgo or Gemini
Venus: Taurus, Libra, Pisces (where she's in now!),
Jupiter: Cancer (where he's in now!), Sagittarius, Pisces
My Results
So last night when I planned my high with that chart above, I did so with Venus being in Pisces on the descendant. This is mostly because I take my gummies in the evenings and lately the most convenient times for highs happen to have planets coming up on the descendant. I also happen to know—you do not need to when planning these things—that Venus is currently in exaltation and she's the planet of love and sex. I don't know if that was what tipped me off or if Belial was hanging around prior to that, but suffice to say, we had a very fun night.
He also gave me new dietary recommendations (apparently I should eat hot meals as frequently as possible to re-energize myself) and spiritual instructions.
I don't know if the ingestion of cannabis decided a new trajectory for the night. I do know that if I hadn't taken the cannabis, I would not have been able to communicate and feel Belial as potently. So I suppose what I am trying to do while partaking in this process is intend for spiritual outcomes and have cannabis assist me toward having the full experience of reaching those outcomes.
Also, I feel the need to say because I know some of you are demon-squeamish or asexual... Creating these charts and taking gummies will not inherently lead you to having sex with demons. I have sex with demons while practicing this exercise because I already enjoy having sex with demons outside of this exercise. Basically, try to aim for whatever spiritual experiences or connections you do want while playing with the stars and cannabis; most likely with your willpower, you're going to get there.
